Coming Down to the Wire

Fray Day 8 DCJust one more day until Fray Day 8 DC.

I’ve pretty much settled on what story I’m going to tell — not one I’ve told in print here or elsewhere — and I’ve even figured out what central theme I’ll be using to tell it. Unfortunately, I still don’t really have an ending for it, something that wraps up the story itself and ties it back to that theme without coming across as corny.

I’m also not likely to have time to really practice telling it before I step up on stage. So, in all probability, it’ll be far less organized than last year. Of course, I’m choosing to think that it’ll be less “rehearsed,” which sounds a lot better.

But in any case, it’ll be a lot of fun (hell, I’m looking forward to it just for the chance to chat with Julia of Tequila Mockingbird fame), and I hope to see at least a few of you DC-based folks (or ambitious travelers) there — it’s at the Love Café, 1501 U Street, NW (two blocks from the U Street stop on the Green line), and the festivities start at 7 p.m.

Just cut me a little slack on that ending...
