Don’t Panic!

There’s an interview with Karey Kirkpatrick, the screenwriter on the new Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy movie up at the official site. The interview is conducted by... Karey Kirkpatrick.

I’m still not confident the movie will work — particularly without Douglas Adams — but I think it’s worth a shot. And with a cast including Martin Freeman (Arthur Dent, though I’ll always think of Simon Jones as the real Arthur Dent), Mos Def (Ford Prefect), Zooey Deschanel (Trillian), Bill Nighy (Slartibartfast), John Malkovich (original Adams-created movie character Humma Kavula), and Sam Rockwell (the man, the myth, the legend, Zaphod Beeblebrox), it certainly appears they’re giving it their best shot.

If it doesn’t work, I’ll be disappointed, but I’ll always have the books, the original radio plays, and the television series. But if it does work, I’ll be positively ecstatic.
